Nyack’s new MA program was launched yesterday with an important conference entitled “THE GOSPELS IN FIRST CENTURY JUDAEA.”
Twelve papers were presented at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian from 9:00-4:30. Scholars from different universities chose different passages from around the gospels and utilized their specific disciplines (e.g., Rabbinic literature, Second Temple Judaism, Greco-Roman Archaeology, etc.) to shed light on these ancient passages. It is planned at some point to make video of the conference available for viewing and the papers will be prepared from eventual publication.
Classes for the new MA begin on Sept. 4th, 2013 at Nyack’s new building, 2 Washington Street, New York, NY 10004.
